Fundamentally speaking, the elastic nature of the Fellert plaster system means that there is no engineering requirement of control joints--except obviously when a building is under excessive structural stress.

The final application of Fellert acoustical plaster has to be completed in a single work step; done corner-to-corner or to a break stopping point. There are, however, practical limitations of what to expect an applicating crew to do in a single work day. The following are good guidelines to use:

Up to 2,500 sq. ft. Expected. |
Up to 5,000 sq. ft. Specific communication should take place between the general contractor and the applicator so they are aware of what is expected and can ensure specific performance. |
Over 5,000 sq. ft. There needs to be a formal meeting between architect, general contractor, and applicator. |
